Marie K. Allen founded Lively Earth in 2006, but the seed for the company was planted many years ago when she gardened with her grandparents. Marie worked in vegetable gardens as a young girl, and at age 14 she was given a rosebush to care for by her paternal grandmother.
After working for 35 years as a nurse, Marie is matching her skills as a nurturer with her talent for caring for plants. In doing so, her company, Lively Earth, is making people’s lives more abundant, and bringing new gardening choices and opportunities to the people of central Texas.
“I have an ardent love of and respect for the earth. That is why I have adopted gardening as my second career. I am bringing the same dedication, love, interest, focus and adaptability that I brought to nursing to gardening.”
